Fighting Acne With Vitamins

Vitamins are used by a lot of people to maintain their skin's general health. One of the less known method to treat and improve your acne condition is by taking the essential vitamins for your skin. Based on my personal experience, the lack of some vitamins in your body will cause or worsen your acne. By taking adequate amount of vitamins, you can also improve your acne condition. This article is all about how you can utilize the power of vitamins to benefit your acne condition.

For your information, your body needs proper amount of nutrition to promote your skin's health as well as prevent acne. Some vitamins are super strength antioxidants that are capable of flushing out skin cells damaging free radicals and removing the toxins in your body. Some vitamins have antibacterial ability in the way that they promote your immune system. Both of these benefits are very important to make sure there are no toxins that clog your pores. With vitamins, you can also accelerate the healing cycle of the skin, which translates to a number of other benefits that include reduced acne marks or scar, lessened acne inflammation and redness, faster natural healing process for the acne just to name a few.

Vitamin A is used to derive the world's most powerful acne medicine - Accutane. But for me and probably you too, the side effects of Accutane are reasons good enough for me to stay away from those pills. But if you take Vitamin A of natural sources, you wont have this problem since it is natural and carries no side effects. Vitamin A strengthens the skin tissue to prevent acne breakouts and prevents acne formation by reducing sebum production. The lack of Vitamin A will cause the formation of acne.

Vitamin B helps you maintain healthy skin tone. These vitamins also help in relieving stress and depression. For your information, stress can be a serious trigger that cause or worsen your acne condition.

Vitamin C and bioflavonoids are antioxidants that are highly needed for at least hundreds of metabolic functions in the body, including tissue growth and repair. Vitamin C protects against infection and boosts the immune system, and since both aspects can do a lot of difference in acne, Vitamin C is extremely important. Bioflavanoids which are found in Vitamin C have an antibacterial effect. The recommended dosage to fight acne is 1000 mg daily.

Vitamin E is an antioxidant that enhances healing and tissue repair. Its tissue repair accelerating ability means it is highly usable as a kind of treatment for acne scars. Vitamin E also strengthens the skin texture by maintaining the tissue structure thus prevents future acne breakouts and promote better skin complexion.

To sum it up, vitamins are essential at both treating and preventing acne. Before you go and get yourself some vitamins, do consult your pharmacist or doctor on the dosage of the vitamins that you are about to take
