How Hormonal Changes Effect Your Skin

A hormonal change which naturally takes place in the human body at certain stages of life creates this skin problem called Acne. And it happens generally during the transition of a person from childhood to puberty and then on to teen age. In the elderly, it is triggered by the move in the middle age when the human body moves toward the post-menopausal stage.

These create emotional trauma and distress. On the one hand, the young person's instincts are triggered towards being drawn to the opposite sex, and in the case of the elder, it triggers a stress, based on their knowledge base, emotional stability, and experience, as to whether this is a the precursor of something of a more serious ailment.

With the kind of tools that are available to a lay person, it is quite astonishing how people still have misconceptions about this temporary skin ailment, Acne. In the case of the young, they are more than impatient, and in the case of the elderly, there is more tranquility, but internally, they worry.

The obvious thing one could do is to read about it, absorb its meaning, and then act accordingly. The vast reach and resource base of the Internet is at the disposal, and there is enough material, both scientific and real experiences of people who have gone through this phase, at all ages. But the young are impatient; the elders have to look after their partner and children, and there is no time to look it up!

Here are some tips for those who do come to this page. First of all, accept Acne as temporary phenomena that should go away. How fast depends upon the scale of your hormonal activity.

Inquire and learn. To the young, avoid those people who taunt you; after all, they are not the only persons in your life, are they? There are others just like you, and you would be surprised how many of them. If a person is going to date you, because you have a beautiful face alone, is it really worth it? Yes, it is difficult; what would you prefer, a person who admires you for more things than just a beautiful face and figure, or a person who is exactly the opposite? Think. Now you are at that age, where any advice given is not acceptable!

What you could do is to have a bath twice daily in warm water, as warm as you can bathe comfortably. Use a soft soap, with a cleanser, less of detergent, and sufficient moisturizer. Try baby soap. And wash your affected area more times than one. Do it tenderly. Don't fool around, trying to take it off or keeping your fingers from feeling it all the time. Pat the area dry, don't scrub. When buying cosmetics, you have a wide variety of choices. Try some of them; look for those which have less oil, high moisturizer content, and those skin softeners. And yes, have faith and confidence in yourself. How is something you have to find an answer to. Remember, we said earlier that at this age, any advice is just a put down, and not REAL?
