Why the gold coast needs renewable energy?!?!?!10POINTS!?!?!?!?
suggest why the gold coast QLD Australia would need to play a part in using renewable energy. Provide statisticsthis is a question for an exam revision could some one help me with this i don't really understand please help im really desperate

How much and how has renewable energy developed in recent years? and what about the future?
Is it a 100 % guarantee there'll be tons of jobs created in the renewable energy sector? What are the jobs that will become of renewable energy in the future? In the uk, does the government hope to pump more money jobs into a certain renewable energy, such as wind, solar or geothermal? which one will employ most in the future? All answers with any relativity to the question would be amazing, thanks if you reply Im a uk student debating whether to study green energy technologies.

What is the greater risk, the consequences of global warming or unreliable renewable energy?
The insurance industry has come out with a very strong paper warning of the consequences of relying on renewable power which is volatile, unstable, insecure and unreliable " A downside of renewable energy particularly, wind and solar technologies, is the volatile supply of power. Not only may a scarcity of electricity result in a power blackout, but an oversupply can also lead to grid instabilities as they alter the frequency within the network." thecroforum.org assets files publications CRO Position %20Paper %20 %20Power %20Blackout %20Risks .pdfThe report highlights the two major trends in power generation as liberalization and privatization and the expansion of renewable energy. Through risk assessment and impact assessments of blackouts, one of the main conclusions is as follows " The power blackout risk is generally underestimated. Blackouts during the last ten years in Europe and Northern America have demonstrated an increasing likelihood of supra regional and long lasting blackouts including high economical losses. Due to the increasing interconnectedness in combination with rather old infrastructure we expect this risk to increase in both frequency and severity." This is an interesting juxtaposition with respect to the insurance industry and global warming where they have also highlighted insurance related risks due to the effects of global warming induced insurance losses. Are they implying that mitigating the risk of global warming through the increase in renewable energy is going to introduce a new risk and cost? And what about the assessment of wind power as a mitigation to CO2 emissions? Reports like this seem to indicate otherwise clepair.net windSchiphol.html Gringo So your interpretation then is that the introduction of renewable energy to the energy grid is low risk? I suppose you think that implementing " smart grids" and improving the energy infrastructure to accept new, unstable and unreliable renewable energy sources can be done by some " revenue neutral" carbon tax scheme as well?Your comments about dishonesty and lying are out of line. It's sad that you have to resort to those types of tactics. Gringo Further, you accuse me of cherry picking and then go on to compare apples, oranges and bananas. I was asking specifically about comparing the risk of AGW to implementing renewable energy. This passage from the report is key " Efforts to mitigate climate change across the world are focusing on the expansion of renewable energy production e.g. onshore and offshore wind farms, solar and biomass power plants." This question is not about the aging energy infrastructure or any other existing problems. It's about the introduction of renewable energy at a speed that requires a major energy grid overhaul. The reason for injecting renewable power now is described exactly in the report quote above to mitigate climate change. So your point about the report being about more than renewable energy is moot. Introducing more renewable energy to the power grid is increasing the risk of blackouts regardless of any other currents risks or issues. Gringo I'm not sure why you are still talking apples and oranges where the existing problems are apples current infrastructure and the new problems renewable energy are oranges. You can call it cherry picking if you like but that's exactly what I intended. Pick out the oranges from the apples.Just to clarify one more time, I am asking to compare the risks of the oranges renewable energy to the risks of the effects of global warming i.e. WG2 of the IPCC TAR plus any recent studies .For that matter, you don't even need to use the above report I quoted. I just referenced it because it has some highlights regarding the problems associated with unreliable renewable energy sources in the larger energy picture. If you think renewable energy is low risk or low cost, then find your own report to support that.Instead of directly answering my question, all you did was dissect how I approached the question. I can Instead of directly answering my question, all you did was dissect how I approached the question. I can only surmise that you are being obtuse for your own personal reasons.

How big will the 'renewable energy' and 'sustainability' sector grow, and how many new jobs will there be?
im interested in studying 'Green Energy Technology BSc' course and want to know what my job prospects will be like.

What are 5 renewable energy sources?

What are the jobs in demand in the renewable energy sector? are they higher or lower qualification jobs?
Is it lower paid jobs like plumbers etc. in demand, or is it researchers, analysts etc., people with degree's and higher qualifications?

What are the advantages and disadvantages of renewable energy sources used in cars?

Would renewable energy sources be enough to cover for nuclear power?
Ok, brace yourselves, this is for a debate that we're doing at school and I'm the lead debater. The affirmative side is " nuclear power SHOULD be used in the modern world." The negative side is " shouldn't" . My question is only because the negative side might ask us about this and stump us, and I wanna be ready with all the answers. So, say we started using nuclear power more around the world. And we don't have to worry about waste storage facilities, either, since we supposedly found a solution to that. But then, this guy comes along and tells us that we could be using renewable energy sources, like wind or solar power instead of the nuclear power we're now using all over the world. And suppose we actually started doing that. Would renewable energy sources be able to produce the same amount of energy that nuclear power was?Oh god, that is so crucial. Simple answers are fine, but I would appreciate any help on the debate itself I'm actually working on my speech right now. I need things that we can say to drown out the negative team's theories and ideas. We need to defeat them good.mark, I really don't get what you're saying.

What is a renewable energy resource from food?
in my revision book it says the 8 types of renewable resources arewindwavestideshydroelectricsolargeothermalbiofuelsand food, but what is that supposed to mean and what is the technical name for 'energy from food'?

What a few problems with renewable energy (sources i think) please help!?
i will vote you best answer

List renewable energy source that save fossil fuels and don't cause pollution?
can u help me, my little brother had this question and cant answer it can u help us thank u

Who would have an interest in limiting your choices of renewable energy such as solar and wind power?
Help me answer the question please? And could someone please explain why? Thanks

To get into Renewable energy, what is the best degree for me to study?
Is it better to study 'Green energy technology' at Leicester uni, or study an engineering degree, probably electrical eng? Or if there are any other courses you suggest....? and why?Or is there any point wanting to go into the renewable energy sector? will we ever actually turn to green energies? or will big oil gas nuclear companies rule what we do, and not allow us to move forward in a green way?

Renewable energy sources?
I need renewable energy source names please.
