Dead animals in my old storage shed? Help please!?
I have this old storage shed, wooden, in my back yard. never used it because it was wet and stinky. I thought is was just water damage. but the smell got worse. and i removed a dead bird, then i see something, i am not quite sure............maybe a cat. whatever it is it's been there a very long time. I have left the door open for the past week before i realized it was a death shack. So my cat has been out there. do i need to worry my cat may have gotten anything? my daughter has been a little sick. Thought is was just a cold. now I am woahhhhhhhh. What could my cat have dragged in? i am so grossed out please hep
Whats the method to shingeling a newly built storage shed roof?
Its a 12 x 12 shed with 1 2 in plywood roof panels. I never did a roof before. What will I need, and how is it done? Bottom to top?, top downward? Also theres a slight gap at the roof peak where the plywood panels meet. Any help appreciated.
Will my things mildew in storage shed?
I have totes that I have my yarn in, my yarn is very important to me as I got it when my grandmother passed. The unit I am putting my things in is not temperature controlled and I am wondering if yarn fabrics will be safe in the shed with the changing temperatures?
Renting a house with no garage or storage shed?
Any advice? Pretty roomy house 1386sq ft but have no garage or storage shed. Wouldn't know where to store lawn mower, kids bikes and riding cars. I figure I could sore the bikes and riding toy cars in the house somewhere but what about the lawn mower? Would hate for someone to could take it. Any suggestions?

How much to build a trash can storage shed?
My husband and I want to get the trash out of our garage it starts to smell in the hot summer weather . We are trying to decide if we should buy a rubbermaid storage shed or similar brand that holds 2 cans, which costs about $250 at Home Depot... or if it would be cheaper for my husband to build a wood shed. I think that the cost of materials would come close to just buying a rubbermaid one, plus considering the amount of time he would have to put in to building it. What do you think? Would we really save that much money building it ourselves, or just keep it simple, save time and buy a rubbermaid one for a few bucks more.EDIT Thanks so far for your answers. A few notes the shed will be visible from the street, so it would have to be aesthetic. And I would prefer it to be a solid structure with a roof to prevent water and creatures from invading my trash P
Is the GE GeoThermal heat pump water heater a good choice for attached storage sheds?
Thinking this might be a good bet all around. Would save on water costs for one. I'd like to also know if it makes sense to redirect the cool air through a duct pipe into the house? The shed is right next to the kitchen so maybe it's easy to do? Plus, it dehumidifies as a bonus. Anyone have a similar configuration? I also know that I have to set up a 30 amp circuit but I think there is enough room to do so at the box.

I am in Chicago area. I am planning to store grill, hoses, bicycle etc. Just bot a 6' x 8' X 4 1 2' High shed from Menards. For a practical, convenient and safe location should the shed be put next to the house or in a far corner?It is a Rubbermaid shed. So it's not wood. What is the best way keep a storage shed at a fair temperature year round?
At the time we built our house, my husband did not extend the air vents on into the small storage room adjacent to our double car garage. I ask him if he would extend the duct work in the attic to the storage room but he said " no" that it would be too much trouble.I have a son that still lives at home who would like to store a lot of his stuff in the room but cannot because a lot of his boxes contains VHS tapes and Compact Discs. His room and closet is so jam packed now that is isn't funny Is there any portable apparatus that I could buy that would keep the shed at a decent temperature year round so that he would be able to use this storage space? Or does anyone know about how much it would cost to run duct work to the storage room and install a vent out there? We have a air vent in our dining room which has only a very small laundry room separating the dining area from the storage room.

So, I've seen these cool 2 story storage shed outside Lowe's and Home Depot, and I like the 2 story shed to make it into a little guest house. We were thinking about putting it in the backyard of my parents' house. So, I know it'll need insulation, and it has to be wired for kitchen and will also need plumbing and stuff. Also, if we went that route, wouldn't we need to add some support so that the 2nd floor doesn't cave in? lol You think it's a good idea for a little guest house or a bachelor pad?What are your ideas?
