How to insulate a colour bond steel shed?
Hey guys, i have a 6x4 colour bond steel shed that gets extremely hot during the summer. and we are having problems finding a way to keep it cool. even with an air conditioner installed it is still very hot and unfortunately to hot to be used during the summer. can you please give me a way to make it as cool as a house could be. What is cheaper, steel shed or wood shed?
I want a 8 by 12 foot shed for some chickens and pidgeons and was trying to figure out what would be cheaper... a shed that I would have to build or a shed that I would buy from say menards. If building one I will use some 2x4 and plywood. I will not be adding on to anything, and I live in the city so would I have to get a building permit?If it helps any I live in Eaton County MI. Thanks
Wooden garden sheds vs galvanised steel sheds?
Hi all,I am thinking of buying a new garden shed and as the title says wooden vs metal. In the past i have always bought wooden ones i have 3 at present 1 a kids playhouse and 1 older and newer hut. The reason i ask about which is better is i am sick of painting and leaky roofs on the wooden ones.There must be a better roofing felting material than the current rough type which breaks up after a while and leaks like mad. I have heard the metal huts suffer with bad condensation but when my wooden one has sprung a leak , all the items in the hut get mouldy as well . So would be most grateful for your help and experience of both types ty.

What is the best method of leveling the ground to erect a steel shed, 10ft X 12ft?
I have an Arrow steel shed kit from Sears. They say to level the ground, but don't say how to do this.I have a floor kit that is made of galvanized steel pieces that fit together with tabs. The plywood floor will screw into the steel base to be the floor of the shed. The ground is not even or level, I guess about 4 inches difference from the back to the front and by eye is level side to side.

what is better? I run a rescue for shelter dogs and im buying a building to house them in. Kinda like a small animal shelter setting with Kennels comeing off it. I was going to use a space heater or heat lamps to keep them warm. Would the steel shed work or would there be no way to keep it even alittle warm. Most of these dogs have spent their whole life outside so they have their winter coats, But I think they still need to be warm. Vinyl coated shed will be double the price. and this is already coating ALOT with concrete and kennels.
