I want to turn my metal storage shed into a hangout/workshop, need some tips.?

Question: I want to turn my metal storage shed into a hangout/workshop, need some tips.?

It is a decent sized metal garden/ storage shed, It is up on some wood so it is slightly off the ground and has a nice wood floor. Some surface mold from who knows how long ago, but it has long since dried out and looks harmless. Anyways, it has tiny tiny holes all over the roof and also some of the parts that go together have gaps in them, I want to seal this so it is waterproof as I might have electronics in there. How would I go about doing this? Would silicon caulking work? Would it smell after drying as I will be spending a lot of time in there and don't care to smell something odd =P. I will probably just get a decently long and thick power cord and plug in a strip in there for now considering it is like 15 ft from my home and we rent so I don't want to go overboard on some of this stuff. I would unplug it when not in use of course =). Any cool tips on what I can do to spiff it up, I am on the fence on if I want it to be a chill zone with a nice stereo and couch or just a simple woodworking shop. Thanks!

It sounds like you have a pretty good plan. I'd make sure that your power cord plugs into a GFI outlet (the ones with a reset button) and use a decent power strip. Silicone sealant will work and the smell goes away when dry. Be careful with the stuff, though, because it can be a challenge to work with. I'd wear old clothes when applying it because it tends to get on you. I'm not a mold expert, but just because it's dry doesn't mean its not potentially harmful. Scrub it down with a weak solution of household bleach and a barely damp cloth. This smell will go away, too. I wouldn't put anything nice in there until I was sure it was watertight and it's lockable. Once you are, a rug, fan, lamp, something to sit or sleep on, and a couple of posters and you're set. I want one.
